What I’ve learnt from Barry White…

Barry White passed away on 5 July 2003. He was 58 years old.

It is now the 22nd of March in the year 2011… I only just learnt that the crooner passed away! How is this possible? Quite simple really. I don’t have a life.

The sad thing is that I can’t even blame my kids for the loss of recreational-me as my first-born only made an appearance in 2005. Even at a stretch factoring in conception, pregnancy etc – it just would be right to lump this on the dear childs’ shoulders.

Mr White inspired millions to get in the mood with such hits as “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe”.   This revelation must carry a personal message for me; possibly more in line with “I’ve got so much to give” which forces me to ask “What am I going to do with you?” introspectively.

… A velvet-voiced reminder from beyond that “life” is first about ensuring that we are our own “You’re the first, the last, my everything”.

And, Mr White is quite clear on the urgency to sort out this situation or the life I yearn for will be “In Your Wildest Dreams”.

Rest in peace Barry Eugene Carter.
