Advent calendar

Christmas is in the air.

Today was as good a day as any to start with the holiday preparations. At this time of the year the school extra-mural calendar gets ditched and our Advent calendar gets put in place.

(Advent officially starts on Sunday, 2 December 2012 this year…)

This year I made a small & portable version as we are going away on holiday and will need to take our calendar with us.

It took me about 2 hours to make the entire thing from start to finish.

All that is required was:

  • a colour printer
  • paper punch
  • scissors
  • craft glue
  • a small gift box
  • decoration – I used Mistletoe

Step 1: Print out music sheets in miniature size and cut out

You can download similar vintage Christmas music sheets here.

Step 2: Print out date numbers and cut out

You can download the same numbers I used here.

Step 3: Repurpose an old Christmas gift box.

I cut the lid off but left a lip which I then glued down to the inside of the box.

Step 4: Create your Advent activity list. Print and cut to size.

You can copy the activity list I made here.
